Why the docket matters
A company may have a USDOT number without having the authority needed for a specific transaction. The MC, MX, or FF docket helps identify the authority record that should be checked in the official Licensing & Insurance public system.
Names can vary between a USDOT snapshot and an authority record. The safest workflow is to match the legal name, docket number, authority type, and status together.
Authority is time-sensitive
Authority and insurance-related information can change after filings, revocations, reinstatements, or bond updates. A directory page is a starting point, not proof that the authority is current today.
